Taylor was one of the most successful supermodels of the 1990s.
Known as a natural low-glamour beauty, Niki began her professional modeling career at the age of 14 and two years later she was a millionaire and was also the president of her own company, Niki, Inc.
Her first appearance on a magazine was on the cover of Seventeen at age 14. Taylor later appeared on the covers of Cosmopolitan and Vogue and was also a star of Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit issue. She also had long-term modeling contracts with the fashion company Liz Claiborne and Cover Girl cosmetics.
Niki was also named one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in 1991.
On April 30 of 2001 Taylor was critically injured in an auto crash in Georgia. She has had over 50 surgeries, as well as physical therapy.
Taylor, who recently became engaged to NASCAR driver Burney Lamar, lives with her two sons in a French colonial house on seven acres in Brentwood, Tennessee. Niki rarely models anymore, but in July 2005 she opened a clothing store, called Abbie and Jesse's, in Cool Springs with her manager and friend, Lou.
She also founded the Begin Foundation for the Advancement of Women in Business, which helps women with business ideas but who also have limited resources to impliment them.
