Natalie Portman was born in Israel but, was raised on Long Island, NY.
After a stint as a model, Portman earned a spot in the film "Leon".
Portman then took on the role of Al Pacino's step-daughter in Michael Mann's "Heat" (1995). Portman followed this up as Jack Nicholson's daughter in "Mars Attacks!" (1996).
But, it was in 1999 that Portman took on her most talked-about role to date, that of Queen Amidala in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace".
The beautiful Portman is now at Harvard.
