Natalie Cole was born on February 6, 1950. She was raised in Hancock Park, Los Angeles. Because her father (Nat King Cole) was highly involved in the music industry, she became interested in music at a very young age. Cole made her singing debut at the age of six years old when she was featured on her dad's Holiday album.
Natalie went to school at the University of Massachusetts and graduated as she earned a B.A. in childhood psychology. During this time, Cole had developed her personal style of music including gospel and R&B. In 1975, Capitol Records, the same company that worked with her father, offered Natalie a contract. From this, she was able to record her hit album "Inseparable". By 1975, she had earned a Gold record and two Grammy awards.
Her latest accomplishments include the hit album "Ask a Woman Who Knows". She also sang the National Anthem at the World Series.
