Entertainer, musician, dancer. Mya Harrison was born on October 10^th, 1979, in Washington, D.C., to an Italian mother and an African-American father. Mya grew up surrounded by music, her father was known to perform in many R&B bands, but music was not her first calling, she had taken a liking to dance, tap in particular. By 1992 Mya became passionate with dancing and is quoted as being greatly inspired by Savion Glover, which led to her membership with T.W.A. {Tappers With Attitude}.

           Mya’s self-titled debut album was then released in 1998, her star was beginning to rise. The album included collaborations from Babyface, and Missy Elliott, Dru Hill in the single "It's All About Me" which received a Soul Train nomination. But things didn’t stop there, she also collaborated with Pras and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard in the smash hit "Ghetto Supastar", later that year "Take Me There" from the Rugrats soundtrack which featured Blackstreet was released..After taking a short break from the studio, she came back as a maturing young woman with more to explore such as her songwriting abilities. Her sophomore album titled Fear of Flying was released in 2000, filled with top notch collaborations and summer anthems for all ages.

           In 2001 she paired up with Christina Aguilera, Pink, Lil Kim, and Missy Elliot to produce "Lady Marmalade" which won VMA’s for best video of the year, best pop collaboration with vocals, and best video from a film..The former Bongo jeans spokeswoman is now on the advisory board for the Secret to Self Esteem program, which helps young girls grow up to become strong women. By late 2003 Mya came back "Moodring" her third titled album, which introduced the world to a Mya that was all grown-up and not afraid to explore more outlets for expressing herself. The album included hits like "My Love is Like...Whoa", and "Fallen".She also won the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Acting Ensemble for the top rated movie "Chicago".
