Mike Eruzione will best be remembered for what is called, "The Miracle on Ice".
Eruzione was the captain of the U.S. hockey team at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics. That is when the U.S. beat the Soviet Union, and when on to win the Gold Medal, which, nobody would have predicted.
A native of Massachusetts, Eruzione attended Boston University, where, he was also captain of the hockey team.
After the victory in Lake Placid, Eruzione spent several years in television as a sports commentator for Madison Square Garden.
Eruzione has also been a commentator for 4 Olympics.
