Meredith Vieira is the host of a network talk show, syndicated game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, and a cable biography series on television. She is also the soon to be co-host for The Today Show.
Vieira has been a host of The View on ABC since 1997 where she introduces the "Hot Topics," guides the conversations, and breaks to the commercials. Vieira is known to be open about sexual issues and her experiences and opinions as well on sex related topics on the show.
She won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host in 2005 for her work on ...Millionaire. Since 1999, she has been the host of Lifetime's Intimate Portrait, covering the lives of women in art, politics, entertainment, business, science, journalism, and sports.
Vieira also hosts a game based on the Millionaire show, for the Special Edition 2-disc DVD of The Lion King 1 1/2, called Who Wants to Be King of the Jungle?. Along with this, Meredith is also the host of the DVD series of Desperate Housewives as well as the spokesperson for Bayer on TV commercials.
Her career began in 1975 as a radio news announcer in Massachusetts. Eventually, Meredith made her way into the newsroom at WCBS-TV leading her to the network level.
Before her hosting duties, Vieira obtained national recognition as a CBS reporter and correspondent for news-magazine shows such as 60 Minutes and West 57th. She made a career switch by moving to ABC as a journalist.
