Lenny Krayzelburg is a three time Olympic gold medal winner for backstroke. He was born in Odessa, Russia in 1975, but, moved to Southern California as an adolescent.
He attended the University of Southern California and by his sophomore year, Krayzelburg shocked everyone by qualifying for the 1996 Olympic trials in Indianapolis.
Lenny had the second best time in the 200-meter heats. The top two swimmers from these trials would be eligible for the games in Atlanta. But Krayzelburg came in fifth.
However, Krayzelburg did qualify for the Sydney 2000 Olympics and won two Gold Medals while breaking two Olympic records in the process.
People Magazine has recognized Lenny as one of the Fifty Most Beautiful People of 2000.
