Kathy Liebert is a professional poker player best known for becoming the first woman ever to win a tournament with a first prize of $1 million.
She attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie where she earned a bachelors degree in business and finance. After some successful stock investments, she quit her job and decided to travel the country.
Liebert's poker career started when she began working as a prop player in Colorado. She would later go on to enter tournaments and she won the first Party Poker Million event in 2002. At the 2005 Borgata Poker Open, she became the highest finishing female on the WPT with a third place finish.
Liebert also appeared on and won the series Poker Royale: Battle of the Sexes.
As of 2006, she has one World Series of Poker bracelet and over $3,200,000 in live tournament winnings. She has won more prize money in open field tournaments than any other woman in poker history.
Liebert now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada and Downey, California.
