Joshua Malina (born 17 January 1966) is an American film and stage actor. He is perhaps most famous for portraying character Will Bailey on the NBC drama The West Wing.
Born and raised in New Rochelle, New York, Malina graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Theater. He made his acting debut in the Broadway production of Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men. From 1998-2000, Malina starred as character Jeremy Goodwin on Sorkin's Sports Night. The critically-acclaimed show was unable to find a large fan base and was cancelled after two seasons.
He is likely best known for his role as Will Bailey on The West Wing, which he held from 2002 to 2006. With the role, he continues his feat of appearing in every project written or produced by Sorkin, although as of yet Malina has no announced involvement in Sorkin's upcoming Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
During his West Wing tenure, he was known to the rest of the west wing cast as a tireless prankster. He coated phones with vaseline, reset WW producer Alex grave's Ipod to mandarin chinese. He also stole Brad Whitford office stationaries and used it in an elaborate prank, with the help of janel moloney, in which he sent a valentine bouquet to jimmy smits with a card stolen from whitford reading "Dear Jimmy, Working with you has been a delight. Be my Valentine.".
Joshua Malina is a co-creator and producer of Bravo's cable TV series Celebrity Poker Showdown.
He is the brother-in-law of fellow West Wing actor Timothy Busfield.
