Since becoming head coach at his alma mater in 1976, Boeheim has
guided Syracuse to 24 NCAA Tournaments with a winning percentage ranked
second among active Division I college coaches. For his career
accomplishments, Boeheim was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball
Hall of Fame in 2005.
After decades of close calls, Boeheim led
his team to the NCAA Men’s Basketball championship in 2003.
Boeheim is a survivor both on and off
the court. He fought a personal battle with prostate cancer, resulting
in a selfless devotion to numerous causes, including Coaches vs.
Cancer.
