Jay Sigel is a professional golfer on the Champions Tour.
He enjoyed one of the more illustrious careers in the history of U.S. Amateur golf. He compiled victories in the U.S. Amateur, British Amateur and U.S. Mid-Amateur Championships, and also competed on 9 Walker Cup teams. He went on to attend Wake Forest University where he played on the golf team.
After graduating from Wake Forest, Jay started his own insurance business where he worked for over 30 years. Just recently he sold his business but still remains the Senior Vice President.
In an unusual move, Jay turned professional as a senior player and joined the Champions Tour in 1994. During his rookie season he earned 14 top-10 finishes and Rookie of the Year honors. Today, he has career earnings around $8.8 million.
Each year, he hosts the Jay Sigel Invitational Golf Tournament which benefits prostate cancer research at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a member Corporate Advisory Board for the American Cancer Society.
