Jay Haas is a professional golfer on the PGA Tour and graduate of Wake Forest University. After his college career, he turned professional in 1976.
His career on the PGA Tour has been solid with nine victories in a 15 year span, from 1978 to 1993. He didn't do much on tour for the next 10 years, however, in 2003 he placed in the top 30 on the money list and was a member of the U.S. Presidents Cup team. The next year he was a captain's pick for the Ryder Cup for the third time in his career.
Jay became eligible to play in Champions Tour events in 2004 and has since won five events on tour, including one major. He was awarded the 2006 Bob Jones Award, the highest honor given by the United States Golf Association in recognition of distinguished sportsmanship in golf.
Haas currently resides in Greenville, South Carolina.
