JAY BRYANT currently publishes the highly acclaimed on-line newsletter The.Optimate and is a regular commentator on National Public Radio's All Things Considered.
(Click here to listen.) Mr. Bryant spent more than 30 years as a political media consultant, during which time he created political campaign advertising in more than 50 winning Senatorial and Congressional elections and numerous other races in the United States and Canada.
Mr. Bryant served as Assistant to the Governor of Illinois and subsequently served in key staff positions in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate. As Director of Communications for the National Republican Congressional Committee, he developed the first generic political party television advertising program in history.
Mr. Bryant has provided communications consulting, speech coaching and media training for Senators, Governors, Congressmen, Federal Executive Branch officials, association executives and Fortune 500 corporate leaders. He has worked as a TV producer, writer and director at WGN Television in Chicago and for the State of Maine Educational Television Network. He has also produced numerous independent documentary programs, including the discussion series, At Issue, seen nationally on the Discovery Channel and CNBC.
He holds two degrees in speech from Northwestern University, and has taught courses at the University of Maine and American University.
Mr. Bryant has been speaking in Public Policy Seminars for Alan L. Freed Associates since 1988 and frequently moderates the Capitol Hill Workshops.
