Jane Bryant Quinn is the nation's leading commentator on personal finance, with books and columns read by millions. Ms. Quinn is an award-winning Newsweek columnist, writing on issues affecting personal finance and a Newspaper columnist for the New York Daily News, whose twice-weekly column is syndicated by The Washington Post Writers Group to more than 250 newspapers. She has also been a columnist for Good Housekeeping Magazine, writing on personal finance for every issue.
Ms. Quinn is the author of the best seller Making the Most of Your Money, a comprehensive guide to planning your personal finances, originally published by Simon and Schuster in 1991 and revised in 1997. It was a Book of the Month Club selection in 1991. Her book, A Hole In the Market, published by Whittle Books (1994), tracks what effects Generation X (the Baby Busters) will have on the economy. Everyone's Money Book, her first book, published in 1978, was also a bestseller and Book of the Month Club Selection.
As a well-known TV personality, Ms. Quinn worked ten years for CBS News, first on the CBS Morning News, then on the Evening News with Dan Rather. Recently she co-hosted an investment series, Beyond Wall Street, running on the Public Broadcasting System. In 1988, she hosted her own program on personal finance, a series called Take Charge! that ran on the Public Broadcasting System. She appeared twice weekly on ABC's The Home Show 1990-1991 and has been a guest on Good Morning America, Nightline, and many other programs.
She has been named by the World Almanac as one of the 25 most influential women in the United States. She has won numerous awards, such as an Emmy Award for outstanding coverage of news on television, the Gerald Loeb Award, the ICI-American University Journalism Award for Excellence in Personal Finance Reporting, the John Hancock Award for Excellence in Business and Financial Journalism, the Janus Award for Excellence in Television Reporting, three-time winner of the National Press Club Award for Consumer Journalism. She is a two-time winner of the National Headliner Award and was honored by the Consumer Federation of America for Outstanding Media Service.
A frequent speaker and panelist at business conventions and community lecture series; Ms. Quinn is spokesperson to all generations on how to handle their money in challenging times.
