Ina Garten is the owner of Barefoot Contessa, that 20 years ago was a 400-sq.-ft. specialty food store with employees. Today Barefoot Contessa is a 3000- sq ft food emporium where 20 cooks and bakers prepare varieties of food. She has an additional 25 employees that help with the operation of the store.
In 2001, Ina sold the store to her employees but continues her association with Barefoot Contessa in a variety of ways.
Ina wrote her first book in 1999, The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook. It was one of the best selling cookbooks of the year. In 2001, Ina had another bestseller called Barefoot Contessa Parties! She also has another cookbook, Barefoot Contessa Family Style, which contains easy recipes to make everyone feel like family.
Ina lives in East Hampton, New York and Southport, Connecticut and has been a columnist for Martha Stewart's Living Magazine. Ina's different food designs are currently featured in O, the Oprah magazine.
