Elsa Benitez appeared on the cover of Vogue Italy three times in 1996. After signing with Elite Model Management, she appeared on the covers of numerous fashion magazines such as, Vogue, ELLE, Mademoiselle, Glamour, Harper's Bazaar, and Marie Claire.
Elsa has also done campaign work for Dolce & Gabbana, Macy's, I-N-C, Episode, J.Crew, Ocar de la Renta, Nine West, Rena Lange, Valentino, and Jones New York. She has modeled for Victoria's Secret and in 1999, she appeared in the Pirelli Calendar that featured "Women Through the Decades."
In 2001, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue chose the model to appear on their cover. She has since appeared in the Swimsuit Edition five times.
Benitez began her career after winning an international model search in 1995. She began modeling in her native Mexico, before doing so in the United States and Europe. In 2002, Benitez was seen in Enrique Iglesias' music video "Love to See You Cry". In hopes to work in the Spanish and English film industries, Benitez has taken acting lessons.
