Elle MacPhearson was discovered at the age of 18 in Aspen, Colorado and she was instantaneously signed to the Click modeling agency. Soon after, MacPhearson became a frequent face on the high fashion "Elle" magazine, posing for the magazine for 6 years.She won the cover of the much coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 1994, with models Kathy Ireland and Rachel Hunter.
MacPhearson achieved supermodel status very quickly and she set her sights on other projects by venturing into the world of exercise videos, motivating and teaching people how to stay fit.She also ventured into the film industry. Her first appearance on the silver screen was in the 1990 Woody Allen film "Alice".
Her crossover from modeling to acting proved to be a successful one as she signed with Miramax and became the love interest of Batman in 1997's "Batman & Robin". Most recently, Mchpherson had a recurring role as Joey's new roommate on the sitcom "Friends".
Still wanting to branch out into other industries, she used her business skills to become the chair of a lingerie line called Elle Macpherson Intimates, and it has grown into a multimillion-dollar enterprise.
Joining fellow supermodels Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell, Elle MacPhearson helped in the development of the theme restaurant, the Fashion Café.
