Eddie Jordan is the current head coach of the Washington Wizards in the NBA.
He got his start in basketball while attending Rutgers University in 1973. Just three years later he led his team to the Final Four, where he was named East Regional MVP. In the 1977 NBA Draft, he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the 33rd overall pick. His NBA career involved many teams besides the Cavaliers including the New Jersey Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Portland Trail Blazers.
After retiring in 1984 from the NBA, Eddie returned to Rutgers University as a volunteer assistant and eventually became an assistant coach. He got his first coaching job in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings as an assistant. Just five years later he was promoted to head coach until the 1998 season.
Jordan as the head coach of the Wizards has led his team to the playoffs the past three seasons.
