David Faber joined the CNBC team in 1993 after seven years as an institutional investor, where he covered corporate finance and global equity markets.
Faber does the "Faber Report" on CNBC. He has spent 11 years at CNBC and has broken many big financial stories including the massive fraud at WorldCom, the bail out of the hedge fund Long Term Capital Management, and numerous takeovers.
Faber reports and co-produces documentaries for CNBC. His latest documentary, "The Age of Wal-Mart: Inside America's Most Powerful Company", in which he received record ratings.
Faber garnered a National Headliner award for the CNBC documentary, "The Big Lie: Inside the Rise and Fraud of World Com." and received a Maxwell award for his reporting of CNBC's first original documentary entitled, "The Big Heist, How AOL Took Time Warner".
Faber's first book was entitled, "The Faber Report" and was published by Little, Brown in Spring 2002.
In 2003, he was nominated for a Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism for breaking the news of massive fraud at WorldCom and received two Emmy nominations for that story.
Faber won the Deadline Club of New York's 1997 Award for "Best Broadcast Business Story" for his breaking report of the buyout of MCI Communications in November 1996.
