Craig Stadler is a professional golfer who has played on both the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. He showed a talent for golf as a young child and in 1973 won the U.S. Amateur Championship. He attended the University of Southern California where he was a two-time All-American.
In 1975, Craig turned professional and won his first two PGA Tour wins in 1980. His best year as a professional came in 1982 when he won four PGA Tour events. Some other events he has won throughout his career include the Byron Nelson Golf Classic in 1984, the 1991 Tour Championship, the World Series of Golf in 1992, the Buick Invitational in 1994, and the Nissan Oppen in 1996.
Overall, he has won 13 PGA Tour events. In June of 2003, Stadler became eligible for the Champions Tour. In his first year on the Champions Tour, he was the leading money winner. He is nicknamed "The Walrus" and has always been a crowd favorite.
