Chyna, also known as Joanie Laurer is best known for her role as the wrestler Chyna on the WWF.
Chyna debuted
as a wrestler in 1995 and worked for various idependent promotions as
Just Joanie and Joanie Lee. Her career reached new heights when she met
world Wrestling Federation (WWF) employees Triple H and ShawnMichaels in a bar in 1997. Struck
by her appearance, they helped her get into the WWF. She made her WWF
debut in 1997. Her original role in the company was as Chyna,
the bodyguard of Triple H. Chyna wrestled in the WWF for five years
before calling it quits due to contract negotiations.
In 2001,
Chyna was a guest on a special celebrity edition of Fear Factor. Chyna
has also modeled, notably for Playboy; the first issue which featured
a pictorial of her was one of the ten best selling issues in the
magazine's history.
Chyna has made numerous guest appearances
on television series, including #rd Rock from the Suna, Pacific Blue,
Relic Hunter, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and Tracker. In early 2005, she
appeared on the reality show The Surreal Life.
