In 1987, he joined ESPN where he spent 11 years as an anchor/reporter. While at ESPN, he also hosted the interview show Up Close from 1994 until 1998. In 1990, Myers won an Emmy Award in the Sports Feature category. In 1996, Myers was the first ESPN reporter on air to report the terrorist bombing of Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, Georgia during that year's Summer Olympic Games.
In addition to his radio duties, Myers currently is the studio host for NASCAR coverage on Fox and FX, at times praised by fellow colleagues for helping with interview techniques. He is also a reporter for Fox Sports' coverage of the NFL and Major League Baseball, and mentioned as a candidate for the then vacant hosting position at FOX NFL Sunday. Joe Buck ultimately became the host.
With more than 20 years of broadcasting experience, Myers has covered virtually every major sports event including the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Daytona 500, and the Olympic Games.
During NASCAR telecasts, Myers hosts Ten Laps With... a short interview with a driver related to the topic of discussion and hosts appropriately for NFL games on FOX Ten Yards With with an NFL player of the home team.
