Carmen Kass is an Estonian supermodel. Kass began modeling at the age of 14 when she was discovered by an Italian modeling scout while shopping in a supermarket. She was ready to set her sights higher and go for the Miss Estonia title, but the offer to fly to Milan, Italy caught her eye.
After being represented in her native Estonia by a small agency called "Baltic Models," Kass moved to Paris at the age of 18. She received exposure on the cover of magazines worldwide such as ELLE and Vogue. In 1999, Kass strutted down the catwalks for top designers such as Bill Blass, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Christian Dior, DKNY, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Gucci, and Prada to name a few.
Today, she is a spokesperson for Sephora; a cosmetics retailer, and for the Christian Dior perfume. She can also be found in the 2004 Estonian murder-mystery film titled "Set Point."
Kass was recognized by Vogue as they honored her with the "Model of the Year" title at the 2000 VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards.
