Butch Davis was an NFL coach and is currently a college football head coach.
After
a brief stint as a high school football coach, Butch began a 15-year
association with Jimmy Johnson, first as a receivers and tight ends
coach at Oklahoma State, then as a defense coach at the University of
Miami.
Butch followed Johnson to Dallas where, he helped Johnson and Jerry Jones construct a back-to-back Super Bowl champions.
Davis
returned to college football when he got his chance as a head coach. He
was head coach at the University of Miami from 1995-2000 and helped
turn around a program that was in disarray.
He returned to NFL football in 2001, as head coach of the Cleveland Browns, where he stayed until 2004.
Davis is currently the head coach of the University of North Carolina Tarheels.
