Bobby Valentine is a former player and manager in Major League Baseball. Today, he is the general manager of the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan's Pacific League.
While in high school, he was a star in football, basketball, and baseball. He ultimately ended up going to the University of Southern California. He got his start in professional baseball with the Los Angeles Dodgers and throughout his career went on to play for the California Angels, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, and Seattle Mariners.
As a manager in Major League Baseball, he managed the Texas Rangers and the New York Mets. Today, he is currently in his second stint as manager of the Chiba Lotte Marines.
Most recently in 2005, he led the Marines to win the Pacific League pennant after thirty-one years without a championship.
