Bobby Cox is considered to be one of the best baseball managers in the history of the game. He is currently the manager of the Atlanta Braves, who he first led from 1978 to 1981, and later rejoined in 1985. His 21 consecutive seasons as manager of the Braves is the longest current tenure of any manager.
Cox is the seventh most successful manager in major league history. He led his Braves to 14 consecutive division titles, however, he has only won one World Series championship. Prior to coaching, Bobby got his start in the major leagues as a third baseman for the New York Yankees. His playing career was very brief, only playing two seasons.
Today, he is ranked fifth for all time wins as a manager in major league history, the most successful manager in Braves history, and is ranked 14th all time for winning percentage. There is no doubt Bobby Cox will be in the Hall of Fame when his career is over.
