Blaine Wilson is an American gymnast from Columbus, Ohio. Blaine comes from a very sports-minded family who actually named him after former Dallas Cowboys guard Blaine Nye. At the age of four, Blaine began to compete in gymnastics. His success today is greatly attributed to all of the years of hard work he has put into the sports.
Wilson won his first World Championships medal at the 2003 Worlds when he helped the team to a silver-medal finish. He was also a member of the 2004 Olympic team in Athens where the team won a silver medal. Blaine's accomplishment in the sport is like no other. He is the first man to win five consecutive national titles since USA Gymnastics was named the sport's National Governing Body, and the third man to win five consecutive U.S. all-around titles in gymnastics history.
Wilson attended Ohio State University where he won the Jesse Owens Award in 1997, presented by the Big Ten Conference to recognize its outstanding male athlete.
Today, Wilson is married to professional volleyball player Makare Desilets and they have one daughter together. When Wilson is not competing in gymnastics he enjoys golf, soccer and biking.
