Bill Simmons, best known as "The Sports Guy," is a columnist for "Page2" on ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. He has also published a collection of his columns.
He attended College of the Holy Cross and graduated in 1992. After his graduation, he went to Boston University where he studied sports journalism and earned his masters degree. In the early 1990's, Simmons worked for the Boston Herald before moving out to California to work as a comedy writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live.
When not reporting for ESPN, Bill enjoys free writing. In October of 2005, he released his first book, "Now I Can Die in Peace: How ESPN's Sports Guy Salvation, With a Little Help from Nomar, Pedro, Shawshank and the 2004 Red Sox."
Today, Simmons lives in California with his wife and daughter.
