Alyson Hannigan is best known for her role in the film series "American Pie." Hannigan is an American actress who began her career when she moved to Los Angeles, California in 1985.
While living with just her mother in Los Angeles, Alyson often went to visit her father in Santa Barbara. It is there that Alyson successfully auditioned for agents.
Hannigan's first major film role was in "My Stepmother Is an Alien." After her first film, Alyson could be found appearing in commercials and supporting roles in the television series Picket Fences, Roseanne and Touched by an Angel.
In 1997, Hannigan was cast to play Willow Rosenberg on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Alyson became a huge success and later was cast in films including American Pie, Boys and Girls, and American Wedding. By the time "Buffy" had ended in 2003, Hannigan was earning a $250,000 salary for each episode.
Currently, Alyson is starring in the regular television series, "How I Met Your Mother." She owns a home in Sacramento, California and is married to actor Alexis Denisof.
