Adriana Lima was discovered at the age of 13 while shopping in a local mall in Brazil.
When Adriana was 15, she finished 1st place in the Ford Supermodel of Brazil model search. She later won 2nd place in the 1996 Ford Supermodel of the World contest. Soon afterwards, Lima moved to New York City and signed with Elite Model Management.
She is best known as a Victoria Secret Angel. She first graced the Victoria Sectet runway in 2000, and was the show opener for the 2003 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
Adriana Lima's premiere exposure came when she was featured in a Vassarette billboard in Times Square. Lima has modeled for companies such as GUESS?, Maybelline, BeBe, and Mossimo.
Adriana Lima has also appeared in international editions of Marie Claire and Vouge, as well as doing runway work for designers such as Christian Lacroix and Valentino.
