Teddy Atlas is one of the more well known boxing trainers the sport has ever seen. Atlas began his career in boxing as an amateur boxer, winning the 1976 Adirondack Golden Gloves title. He was forced to stop fighting due to scoliosis.
He went on to become a trainer, and trained fighters Barry McGuigan and Michael Moorer to championships. In 1997, Atlas founded the Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation in honor of his late father. The foundation awards scholarships and grants to individuals and organizations.
In 2000 and 2004, Teddy was a fight commentator for the Olympic Games. Most recently, he released a biography, "Atlas: From the Streets to the Ring: A Son's Struggle to Become a Man"
Atlas currently serves as commentator on ESPN2's Friday Night Fights and Wednesday Night Fights.
