Mr. James T. Hackett, Jim has been Executive Chairman of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation since January 1, 2006 and Chief Executive Officer since December 3, 2003. Mr. Hackett served as President of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation since December 3, 2003 until February 2010.
He has wide experience in the energy business. He has engineering experience at Chevron USA, Amerada Hess Corp., Citation Oil and Gas Corp., and other companies. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Devon Energy Corporation from April 2003 to December 3, 2003. Mr. Hackett also served as President of Houston Grand Opera. He served as Chairman of the Board of Ocean Energy Inc., from January 2000 to April 2003 and served as its Chief Executive Officer and President from March 1999 to April 2003. Mr. Hackett served as Chairman of the Board of Seagull Energy Corporation from January 1999 to March 1999 and its Chief Executive Officer and President from September 1998 to March 1999. Mr. Hackett also served as Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of Devon OEI Operating, Inc. From June 1997 to September 1998, Mr. Hackett served as Group President of Energy Services Group for Duke Energy Corporation at PanEnergy Corp. From January 1996 to June 1997, he served as Executive Vice President of PanEnergy Corp. He served as Senior Vice President and President of the Trident Division in 1995. From 1990 to 1995, Mr. Hackett worked for NGC Corporation, (now known as Dynegy), Inc.
Mr. Hackett serves as Chairman of Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas at Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He also serves as Chairman of the Domestic Petroleum Council of the American Petroleum Institute and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He serves as the Chair for the St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital capital campaign. Mr. Hackett serves as an Executive Director of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. He has been Director of Fluor Corporation since 2001. Mr. Hackett served as Director of Temple-Inland Inc., from 2000 to May 2, 2008 and also served as its Presiding Director until May 2, 2008. He served as Director of Halliburton Company since May 2008. He served as Director of The Woodlands, Texas. He served as Director of New Jersey Resources Corp., since 1999. He served as Director of Kaiser Aluminum Corp. from May 2000 to February 2005 and its subsidiary, Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation (KACC) since June 2000. He served as Director of Devon OEI Operating, Inc.
Mr. Hackett holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University.
