Eugene "Mitch" Mitchell is vice president, state and government affairs, at San Diego Gas & Electric and Southern California Gas Co. Before joining SDG&E in 2005, Mitchell was vice president of public policy and communications at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. From 1996 to 1997, he was assistant director of governmental relations in the San Diego office of then-Mayor Susan Golding. Mitchell serves on the boards of the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, the California Asian Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego Food Bank and the Children's Museum, and he was previously on the boards of the San Diego Opera and the Burn Institute. Mitchell was also a governor's appointee to the Little Hoover Commission.
