Dan Harrington is best known for his career on the World Poker Tour. Harrington is a former champion backgammon player, U.S. chess master, and bankruptcy lawyer. It wasn't until he attended Suffolk University that he really began to play poker.
In 1995, Dan won the World Series of Poker main event earning him $1,000,000 and has sat at three other final tables at the main event. Also in 1995, he won a bracelet in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event for $249,000 and the Seven-card stud event at European Poker Open in London.
Dan's trademark his is green Boston Red Sox cap that he is always wearing. He is known as a crafty, tight-aggressive player, employing starting hand standards that are stricter than most professionals.
When not playing poker, Dan also works in real estate and the stock market. He is also a co-author of 3 books on tournament poker. To date, Harrington's winnings playing poker are close to $5,000,000. He currently resides in Santa Monica, California.
