Bob McAdoo was drafted in the first round of the 1972 NBA Draft by the Buffalo Braves (now the Los Angeles Clippers) after one season at the University of North Carolina.

McAdoo became one of NBA's premier players quickly, winning the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in his first season and the first of three straight NBA scoring titles in only his second season. In McAdoo's second season, he also enjoyed his first of five NBA All-Star selections. In 1974-75 McAdoo averaged 34.5 points, 14.1 rebounds and 2.12 blocks per game to win the MVP Award. McAdoo shot 51.2 percent from the field and 80.5 percent from the free throw line that season.

 

 

McAdoo enjoyed a much memorable end to his career as well as he won two NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1982 and 1985 as the team's sixth man. McAdoo finished his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers after the 1985-86 season.
