Amy Grant is an American singer-songwriter, musician, author, media personality and actress. She is known for performing contemporary Christian music. She has been referred to as "The Queen of Christian Pop". As of 2009, Grant had sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
Amy Grant has been singing since she was 15 years old. Grant became an established gospel singer in 1982, with the release of her highly praised album "Age to Age," for which she won a Grammy for Best Female Gospel Performance. Amy Grant pioneered the path for contemporary Christian music, receiving 20 Dove Awards, the utmost honor in the genre.
Amy's 1991 album "Heart in Motion" went multi-platinum and catapulted Grant to pop stardom. In addition, "Home for Christmas" went triple-platinum, "House of Love" double-platinum, as well as six additional platinum and three gold albums. Altogether Amy Grant has sold over 22 million records.
In 2001, she was honored as the "Nashvillian of the Year" for her leadership in cause such as the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and the Nashville Symphony. Amy Grant is also a participant in Nashville's Leadership Music Program and meets with terminally ill children as part of the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
