Half Mexican and half Canadian, Yoanna House was born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 9, 1980. She showed an interest in fashion during her early years of childhood, as she would put on fashion shows for her family. During her teenage years, House was slightly overweight, which was very discouraging to her dreams of becoming a model.
By the time she got to college, House decided to quit her last three years and become an assistant for a fashion designer, which was simultaneous with babysitting. In 2003, House became interested in the show, America's Next Top Model, but decided to lose weight before auditioning. She lost 60 pounds and downgraded from a size 10 to 2. House was declared winner of the competition and has made many runway, catalogue, and television appearances since then.
