He was also named the Sexiest Chef Alive in 2003 by People Magazine. Mealtime.org also features several free recipes from Tyler Florence's book Eat This Book: Cooking with Global Fresh Flavors.
After his 1996 television debut, Florence beagn to establish a reputation in the New York food scene at acclaimed restaurants Cibeo and Cafeteria. The launch and popularity of "Food 911" confirmed Tyler's national appeal and helped open the door to more appearances on tv.
