Nancy Golden's Biography

With a background in stage acting and some television experience, Nancy Golden was a natural choice when Home & Garden Television went looking for a host/expert for programs such as Room for Change and Decorating Cents. The transition to DIY's design series was a natural next step in the evolutionary process.

Golden was hired by a friend to help beautify and furnish a cabin and that was the beginning of her a career.  Golden went back to school to study design and turned her interest into a profession.

In 1985 Golden helped found the Minnesota chapter of the Independent Designers Association, and she continues to share her career-choice advice with high school students considering a future in design.
