Marlo Thomas has developed as a well known actress, acting in a variety of projects including the 1986 TV drama, "Nobody's Child," for which she won an Emmy for Best Actress. Marlo Thomas began her career performing in regional theaters around the country when Mike Nichols cast her as the lead in the London production of Neil Simon's "Barefoot in the Park". Marlo then went on to star in and produce the long-running hit television series, "That Girl", the first series on television to portray an independent single woman living alone. Marlo Thomas remains involved in political and human rights issues and raises funds for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charitable research and treatment institution founded by her father. |
