Chris Klug lived near the Mt. Bachelor Ski Area in Bend, Oregon until his family moved to Aspen, Colorado in 1992.
Klug became a professional snowboarder in 1991. Last winter he got a number of top 5 finishes, including a first place in the Slalom event at the U. S. Open at Stratton.
Chris Klug captured the bronze medal in the Giant Slalom event at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.
He is the first-ever American to compete in the Olympics with an organ transplant. Klug suffered from a rare and deadly Liver disease.
