Brent Jones, a former American Football tight end who was drafted in 1986, played his entire career with the San Francisco 49ers (1987-1997).
He won 3 Super Bowl rings and was selected to the Pro Bowl 4 times, from 1992 to 1995. He finished his 11 NFL seasons with 417 receptions for 5,195 yards and 33 touchdowns.
Having tremendous speed for a tight end, it allowed Jones to make big plays down the field. In fact, he once outran Deion Sanders, then one of the fastest cornerbacks in the NFL for a touchdown. He also served as a security blanket for quarterbacks Joe Montana and Steve Young. Having soft hands and a tremendous knack for coming down with the touch reception, he was one of the most popular players on the team.
Shortly after he retired, Jones became an analyst for The NFL Today. He worked for The NFL on CBS from 1998-2004.
Jones decided to leave CBS Sports prior to the 2005 season in order to focus on a business venture in Califorina.
