Antonio Banderas's Biography:
Antonio Banderas has starred in several notable box office successes, such as "Che", "Evita", "The Mask of Zorro" and "The Legend of Zorro". In 1991, Antonio directed "Crazy in Alabama", starring his wife Melanie Griffith.
In 2003, Banderas appeared in the Broadway revival of the musical "Nine". He was awarded both the Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for his performance and as a result he was also nominated for the Tony Award for best actor in a musical.
His voice may be heard in the children's film "Shrek 2". "Take the Lead" is his latest film, to be released in 2006. Some of his upcoming projects include "Don Juan DeMarco" on Broadway, as well as the films "Conquistador" and "Shrek 3" to be released in 2007. Banderas will once again voice the 'Puss In Boots' character in the third "Shrek" sequel.
Antonio Banderas first gained public attention through a series of films between 1982 and 1990. His breakthrough role was that of "Ricky" in "Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!".One of his first films in the United States is the 1992 movie "Mambo Kings". He also had a supporting role in the 1993 Oscar-winning film, "Philadelphia". In 1995, Banderas appeared in several major Hollywood releases, including a starring role in the film "Desperado".
