Writer and Performer Faye Lane Speaks at Virginia Women’s Business Conference

Writer and performer Faye Lane shared her unique performance art with female business leaders in Virginia this month. She spoke at the Virginia Women's Business Conference. 

The event was held on December 1st at the Lansdowne Resort and Spa. In addition to Lane, several other women prominent in their fields spoke. 

There were a variety of other networking and education opportunities available as well. There was a total of eight personal and professional tracks. 

Crowds come out to be impacted by Lane's mix of story and song. Her most popular show, Faye Lane's Beauty Shop Stories, shares tales from her upbringing in a Texas beauty salon. 

The show won the New York International Fringe Festival's Overall Excellence Award, a Bistro Award and a MAC Award. Lane performs regularly for the leading storytelling organization in the country, The Moth. 

Her autobiographical stories are also heard on NPR's Cityscapes and The Moth Radio Show. Lane is currently working on a memoir, also titled, "Fay Lane's Beauty Shop Stories."
