Leading into Victoria, British Columbia's Rifflandia music festival next month is Thinklandia.  The workshop series runs its fourth annual edition from September 9-13.

It will be hosted at Dockside Green and feature several prominent speakers.  One of those is Sonic Youth Founder Kim Gordon, who will address attendees on September 12th.

A five-day pass to attend Thinklandia is $52.50.  There are also opportunities to purchase single-day passes to the event for $22.50.

Gordon is known as an expert creator, visual artist and musician.  She founded and wrote much of the music for the alternative rock band Sonic Youth.

The band was formed in 1981, achieved some commercial success in the 1990's and did not break up until 2012.  One of their most notable accomplishments was headlining the 1995 Lollapalooza festival.

Gordon has created many other music collaborations.  Last year, she published the memoir, "Girl in a Band: A Memoir" that addresses all the highlights of her diverse life.
