One of the top political analysts on television made a stop by one Florida community on Saturday.  MSNBC personality Ari Berman held a book signing in The Villages.

From 4-5 p.m., Berman was at the Barnes & Noble at Lake Sumter Landing.  He signed copies of his hit book, "Give us the Ballot: The Modern Struggle for Voting Rights in America".

Give us the Ballot tells the story of the last 50 years in American voting history.  It specifically discusses the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and how that started an agenda to restrict voting rights.

The New York Times named Give us the Ballot the Notable Book of 2015.  It is Berman's second book after he published "Herding Donkeys: The Fight to Rebuild the Democratic Party and Reshape American Politics" in 2010.

Berman is also a senior contributing writer for The Nation magazine.  His writing has been featured in The Guardian, The New York Times and Rolling Stone.

Berman is a Reporting Fellow at The Nation Institute.  He often appears talking about an array of issues on NPR and C-SPAN in addition to MSNBC.
