Comedians often play off of current events to find some of their best material.  Enter the name of the actor and stand-up David Cross' new comedy tour as the latest point of proof.

Cross is borrowing from the popular presidential campaign slogan of businessman Donald Trump with his "Making America Great Again!" Tour.  The 51-date tour is his first since 2009 and it kicks off in San Diego on January 26th.

Tickets for the tour officially went on sale today.  Cross will be hitting most major metropolitan cities including Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles.

While some may know Cross better for his assortment of icon television characters, Comedy Central named him one of the Top 100 Stand-Up Comedians of All-Time.  His comedy album "Shut Up You Fing Baby" was nominated for a Grammy in 2004.

Cross has a large following from his time on the show Arrested Development as Tobias Funke.  Most recently, he has been featured in the Netflix sketch comedy series With Bob and David.

Just this week, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, a show he created, wrote, executive produced, and starred in returned to the Independent Film Channel.  Cross is also known for his voice work, particularly the role of Crane in the Kung Fu Panda film franchise.

Cross work in television started as a writer on The Ben Stiller Show, a role he won an Emmy for in 1993.  He also got a major early break by teaming up with Bob Odenkirk on the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show in 1995.
